What About Boys? A Parent's Guide to Male Puberty and Parenting Growing Boys

  • Oak Grove Public Library 4958 Old Highway 11 Hattiesburg, Mississippi, 39402 United States (map)

When we talk about puberty, we are often thinking of our daughters while support for our sons falls by the wayside. But puberty brings big changes for boys - and BIG questions - for growing boys and the adults who raise them.

On Monday, October 19th at 6PM, join Ms. Bella for a fun, honest, and engaging conversation about male puberty, real questions from adolescent boys, and parenting your son through this transition. The first 9 attendees will receive a FREE copy of the most recent evidence-based puberty book for boys, co-authored by Ms. Bella: “Bigger, Faster, Hairier, Stronger: A Book for Boys"!

About the Book: Growing up can feel exciting, confusing, and awkward - sometimes all at once. Bigger, Faster, Stronger, Harder: A Book for Boys is an engaging guide designed to help boys ages 9–14 understand the physical, emotional, and social changes of puberty with confidence and clarity.

Unlike many traditional puberty books, Bigger, Faster, Stronger, Hairier incorporates authentic stories and insights from boys themselves, helping readers recognize that there is no "right" way to develop and that everyone's journey through puberty is different. The book also addresses common myths and misconceptions while offering practical guidance on personal hygiene, emotional well-being, healthy relationships, body image, and self-confidence.

Developed through participatory research with young people across the United States, this book answers the real questions boys are asking: about their bodies, their feelings, and the world around them.
